Investigation into Drowning at 11714 Highgrove Drive
November 12, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the drowning of a man at 11714 Highgrove Drive that occurred at 2:45 pm. on Wednesday (November 11).
The victim, Horace Pierson, 77, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer K. Saulsberry reported:
Mr. Pierson, who is wheelchair bound, was taken outside to the pool area of his home by his caretaker so he could eat his lunch. The caretaker then went inside the house to clean. As she was inside, she noticed Pierson had rolled into the pool and was unresponsive. The caretaker ran outside and pulled Pierson's head above water while calling for help. A neighbor heard the caretaker and pulled Pierson out of the pool and began performing CPR. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics transported Pierson to an area hospital.
At this time, there are no signs of foul play, however, the investigation is continuing.
