Investigation into Assault at 1800 Runnels Street
June 19, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the assault of a woman that occurred at 1800 Runnels Street about 8 p.m. on Thursday (June 18).
The victim, Aura Aparicio, 58, suffered burns and was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer K. Saulsberry reported:
Ms. Aparicio stated the suspect, her boyfriend who she knows only as "Cubito," threw some gasoline on her and set her on fire in their homeless camp at the above address. Aparicio stated they had argued after the boyfriend accused her and another male of stealing from him. Aparicio was transported to the hospital with second degree burns to her face, arm and hand.
