December 17, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 11001 Fuqua Street that occurred about 4:30 a.m. today.  

The victim, Jamal Phillips, 21, was transported to an area hospital in critical but stable condition.  

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives V. Habukiha and J. Windham reported: 

Mr. Phillips was at a a gas station at the above address when a white sedan pulled up and parked next to him.  An unknown male exited the passenger side of the vehicle and approached Philips, who was in the driver's seat of a black, four-door truck.  The suspect then backed away from Phillips, pulled out a pistol and fired multiple shots into the vehicle, striking Phillips.  The suspect and the suspect vehicle fled the scene.  Paramedics transported Phillips to the hospital.
