December 11, 2020 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 900 West Tidwell Road that occurred about 9:55 p.m. on Thursday (December 10).  

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer F. Flynn reported:  

A gray Chrysler 200 was traveling at a high rate of speed westbound near the above address when the driver lost control, went off the roadway and struck a tree.  

Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male passenger to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  The female driver, 15, was transported to an area hospital with a broken leg.  The driver was evaluated for possible impairment, as officers detected a strong odor of marijuana inside the vehicle.   

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
