December 7, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man that occurred at 9200 Eastex Freeway (U.S. Highway 59 North) about 8:20 p.m. on Sunday (December 6).

The victim, Gerrone Roberts, 44, was transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers G. Black and C. Bowling reported:

Mr. Roberts stated he turned southbound onto the Eastex Freeway service road from Tidwell when a newer model green Toyota Camry pulled around him and slammed on the brakes.  Roberts swerved around the vehicle and then entered the Eastex Freeway heading southbound.  The driver of the Camry then pulled alongside Roberts and began shooting at him.  Roberts' truck was struck multiple time and Roberts suffered gunshot wounds to his arm, abdomen and leg.  Roberts then drove to a nearby Houston Fire Department station where he was transported to an area hospital.  The suspect driving the Camry fled in an unknown direction.
