Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6000 Nunn Street
April 23, 2020 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6000 Nunn Street about 3 p.m. on Wednesday (April 22).
The identity of the male victim, 34, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer C. Cisneros reported:
The driver of a tractor-trailer truck was traveling westbound on Lindberg Street and turned southbound onto Nunn Street. The 18-wheeler began backing up on the wrong side of the road and crossed into the southbound lanes of Nunn. The victim, driving a white Cadillac DTS sedan traveling southbound on Nunn, veered to the right in an attempt to avoid the 18-wheeler, but struck the rear of the trailer. Paramedics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the 18-wheeler, who was determined not to be impaired, remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
