Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 10906 Segrest Drive
September 03, 2019 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting and kidnapping of a woman reported at 10906 Segrest Drive about 6:45 p.m. last Friday (August 30).
The suspect, Shedrick A. Franklin (b/m, 23), is charged with aggravated assault of a family member and aggravated kidnapping in the 248th State District Court. A booking photo of Franklin is attached to this news release.
The victim, Dominique Bromon, 31, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective A. Barker reported:
Last Thursday (August 29), Ms. Bromon was inside her home at the above address when her boyfriend (Franklin) entered. After threatening her, Franklin shot Bromon multiple times. He then prevented the woman, who is pregnant, from leaving the house.
The next day, Bromon escaped the residence and fled to a neighbor's residence where she called police. Officers responded to the scene and arrested Franklin without further incident.
