Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6700 South Freeway
November 25, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6700 South Freeway (State Highway 288) service road about 11:55 a.m. on Sunday (November 24).
The identity of the male victim, 83, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer M. Ramos reported:
The victim was driving a green Dodge Caliber on the South Freeway and took the exit ramp to Yellowstone Boulevard. The driver failed to stay in a single lane, struck a curb on the east side of the ramp and drove onto the grass. The vehicle then struck a metal sign, a tree and spun around, facing the northbound exit ramp. Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
No other vehicles were involved in this crash. The investigation is continuing.
