Investigation into Fatal Crash at 12000 Northwest Freeway
November 12, 2019 - Houston police have learned the victim injured in a crash that occurred at 12000 Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) about 12:55 p.m. on Friday (November 8) has died.
The identity of the male victim, 42, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead on Saturday (November 9).
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer C. Dinh reported:
The victim was driving a tan Mercury Grand Marquis westbound on the 12000 block of the Northwest Freeway when he failed to maintain a single lane. The vehicle struck the wall on the right side of the freeway and continued forward until it struck the react barrels at the Bingle exit. The victim appeared to have suffered a medical episode which may have led to the crash.
The investigation is continuing.
