Investigation into Fatal Crash at 4600 South Sam Houston Parkway East
November 07, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 4600 South Sam Houston Parkway East (Beltway 8) about 6:05 p.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 6).
The identity of the male victim, 70, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Warhol and Officer O. Sulaiman reported:
The victim, a pedestrian, walked into the roadway - not in a crosswalk - in the intersection at the above address when he was struck by a maroon Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling eastbound on Beltway 8. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The male driver, 47, was questioned and released without charges.
The investigation is continuing.
