Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1000 South Loop West
January 22, 2019 - A man critically injured in a crash at 1000 South Loop West (South Interstate Highway 610 West) about 9:10 p.m. on Saturday (January 19) has died from his injuries.
The identity of the victim, 45, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rodriguez and Officer J. Baker reported:
The victim was in a gold Saturn L20 that was stopped in a moving lane of traffic westbound at the above address when his vehicle was struck from behind by a gray Toyota Tundra pickup truck. The victim was transported by HFD paramedics to Memorial Hermann Hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased on Monday (January 21).
The driver of the Toyota showed no signs of intoxication, however he was arrested for outstanding city warrants.
