Suspect Arrested, Charged in Stabbing at 2409 West Little York
January 4, 2019 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the stabbing of a woman at 2409 West Little York about 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday (Jan. 1).
The suspect, Lashante N. Crawford (b/f, 42), is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 177th State District Court. A booking photo of Crawford is attached to this news release.
The victim, Alma Herrera, 33, was transported to an area hospital with multiple stab wounds.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detective M. Althaus reported:
Ms. Herrera and Crawford got into an earlier physical confrontation and then met up again later in the day. At that time, another physical confrontation between the two women ended with Crawford stabbing Herrera multiple times in the face and back with a knife. Paramedics transported Herrera to an area hospital.
Crawford fled the scene, but eventually turned herself in the following day (Jan. 2).
