Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 6644 Avenue F
February 15, 2019 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 6644 Avenue F about 6:45 p.m. on Thursday (February 14).
The identity of the victim, 43, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective J. Pickett reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and met with a female outside the residence who stated her husband had just shot himself. Officers found the victim inside the residence, conscious and with a gunshot wound. He was transported by paramedics to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Further investigation determined the victim and his wife had gotten into a verbal altercation that turned physical. The victim reportedly made statements to loved ones on social media such as "goodbye to everyone" and "this will be my last Valentines."
