Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 7900 Southwest Freeway
April 29, 2019 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of a woman that occurred at 7900 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) service road about 3:15 a.m. today.
The male victim, Kendrick Monroe, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene. The female victim was transported to an area hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening wounds.
HPD Homicide Sergeants J. Horn, B. Elsbury and Detectives K. McDonald and D. Arnold reported:
HPD patrol officers and Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to a reported shooting at the above address and found Mr. Monroe deceased in the driver's seat of a white Dodge Charger. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The female victim, a front seat passenger, had been shot in the left leg.
At this time, there are no known suspects in this incident.
