Investigation into Fatal Crash at 500 Richmond Avenue
April 26, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 500 Richmond Avenue about 11 p.m. on Thursday (April 25).
The identity of the male victim, 62, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Benavidez and Officer D. Henley reported:
The driver of a Mercedes ML350 was traveling westbound on Richmond Avenue, made a left turn onto the 527 Spur and struck a male (victim) on a bicycle crossing the ramp. The victim died at the scene. The driver of the Mercedes, who remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired.
A preliminary investigation indicated the victim was not in a crosswalk.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
