Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1400 Gulf Freeway
April 26, 2019 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 1400 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 1:40 a.m.today.
The identity of the male victim, 22, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Benavidez and Officer M. Rios reported:
The victim was a passenger in a black Infinity G35 traveling southbound on the Gulf Freeway when, for unknown reasons, the victim jumped out of the moving vehicle. The victim was then struck by a silver Nissan Rogue also traveling southbound on the freeway. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of both vehicles remained at the scene and were determined not to be impaired.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
