Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1900 Waugh Drive
April 25, 2019 - A woman critically injured in a crash at 1900 Waugh Drive about 6 p.m. on April 9 has died from her injuries.
The identity of the female victim, 30, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer S. Coke reported:
The victim was on a bicycle and traveling eastbound on 1400 Vermont Street, approaching the intersection of Waugh, when she was struck by a white Mercedes CI traveling northbound on Waugh. Paramedics transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital in an unknown condition. The driver of the Mercedes remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
Doctors pronounced the victim deceased on Wednesday (April 24).
A preliminary investigation indicated the victim may have disregarded the stop sign prior to entering the intersection. No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
