Investigation into Shooting at 7629 West Bellfort Avenue
September 17, 2018 - The fatal shooting of a robbery suspect at 7629 West Bellfort Avenue about 12:10 a.m. on Saturday (September 15) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the male suspect, 35, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The male shooter, a security guard, 32, was not injured in the incident.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Duncan and Detective K. Heaverlo reported:
According to witnesses, a black male suspect, with his face partially covered and armed with a pistol, entered a restaurant at the above address and fired at least one shot as he approached the cash register. A uniformed security guard inside the business returned fire and struck the suspect, who died at the scene.
No other persons were injured in the shooting.
