Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 1304 Gessner Road
October 29, 2018 - Charges have been filed against a juvenile suspect arrested in a fatal crash that occurred at 1304 Gessner Road about 8:15 p.m. on October 18.
The male suspect, 16, has been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation Authorities on a charge of Failure to Stop and Render Aid (FSRA). Due to his age, no booking photo of the suspect is available.
The male victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer J. Crisler reported:
The driver of a white BMW 535 was traveling northbound at the above address when he struck a male pedestrian crossing Gessner against the walk signal. The driver, 16, fled the scene without rendering aid. He and a family member later returned to the scene where he was interviewed by investigators.
Further investigation led to the charge of FSRA against the suspect and, last Friday (October 26), he was arrested at the HPD Southeast Patrol Division without incident.
