October 25, 2018 - A suspect charged and wanted in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 4735 Anderson around 4:10 a.m. on December 22, 2015 has been arrested.  

The suspect, Jonathan Vasquez (H/m, 24), is charged with capital murder in the 351st State District Court and is in custody in the Harris County jail. 

Another suspect, Daniel Moreno (H/m, 25), is also charged with murder in the 351st State District Court.  Both men are accused in the killing of Saul Cruz, 71, who died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Semmelrock and Officer M. Stahlin reported:

Mr. Cruz was seated in his car, working his shift as a security guard at the above address, when two suspects approached him from behind and ambushed him.  Both suspects began firing upon Cruz's car as they approached with no prior confrontation.  The suspects then robbed Cruz and fled the scene on foot.

Acting on a Crime Stoppers Tip, investigators identified Moreno and Vasquez as suspects in this case.  Moreno was taken into custody on December 28, 2015 without incident.  At that time, investigators were unable to locate Vasquez.   

Further investigation developed information on Vasquez's whereabouts and he was ultimately located in Mexico.  He was taken into custody without incident by Mexican authorities and was extradited and transferred to the Harris County Jail on Monday (October 22).
