Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 8800 Winkler
October 22, 2018 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash that occurred at 8800 Winkler around 1 a.m. on October 14.
The suspect, Victor Godoy, Jr. (H/m, 36), is charged with driving while intoxicated-2nd offense in Harris County Criminal Court #2. A booking photo of Godoy is attached to this news release.
The victim, RIcardo Lozoya, 33, was transported to Clear Lake Regional Hospital, where doctors pronounced him deceased on Sunday (October 21).
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer C. Waller reported:
Mr. Lozoya was operating a black Suzuki GSX-R1000 southbound in the 6700 block of Easthaven and approaching the intersection of Winkler when he was struck by a white Chevrolet Cruze traveling eastbound on Winkler.
Godoy was detained at the scene and determined to be impaired. He was subsequently charged for his role in the crash.
