The fatal shooting of a male at 7400 Langley Road about 11 p.m. on Tuesday (March 27) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Lieutenant W. Meeler and Detective T. Andrade reported:

The male, an auto theft suspect, was fatally shot when a resident of the above address caught him attempting to steal a family vehicle in the driveway of the residence.  Paramedics pronounced the male dead at the scene.  The male shooter was questioned and released.
