Investigation into Assault at 6219 Griggs
June 28, 2018 - Houston police are investigating the assault of a man that occurred at 6219 Griggs about 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday (June 27).
The victim, Victor Fernandez-Lagunas, 28, of the above address, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition with severe burns.
HPD Major Assaults Unit Officers R. Naughton and J. Hasley reported:
Officers responded to a report of a male set on fire outside a trailer home at the above address. Upon arrival, HFD paramedics transported Mr. Fernandez-Lagunas to the hospital with severe burns to his face, chest, arms and stomach. A suspect was detained at the scene and transported to the hospital for treatment of burns to his face and chest.
The suspect was then interviewed by investigators and released from the hospital. Fernandez-Lagunas was interviewed after surgery and identified the suspect.
The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed at this time.
