Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7800 Westheimer Road
June 26, 2018 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7800 Westheimer Road about 8:50 p.m. on Monday (June 25).
The identity of the female victim, 41, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths and Officer R. Romo reported:
The victim was crossing the street at the above address in a crosswalk with her children when the driver of a gray Honda CRV traveling eastbound on Westheimer ran the red light at the intersection of Stoney Brook and struck her. The victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. Her children were uninjured.
The male driver, 51, of the Honda, showed no signs of impairment, remained at the scene and was questioned and released after consenting to a blood draw.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
