Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6400 Wheatley
June 14, 2018 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6400 Wheatley about 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday (June 13).
The identity of the deceased male victim, 52, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold reported:
The victim was a passenger in a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck struck by a black Chevrolet Camaro at the intersection of Wheatley and Wilburforce. A preliminary investigation determined the female driver of the Silverado failed to yield the right of way to the male driver of the Camaro.
Paramedics transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The two drivers were transported to area hospitals with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
