Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 6890 Monroe
July 31, 2018 - The fatal shooting of a robbery suspect at 6890 Monroe about 11:30 a.m. on Saturday (July 28) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The suspect was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Olive and Detective S. Sylvester reported:
The victim, an armed guard, was delivering money to the PLS check cashing business at the above address. Shortly after entering the business, the suspect began fighting with the guard in an attempt to rob him. During the altercation, the guard fired his weapon one time, striking the suspect.
