Investigation into Fatal Crash at 14804 Katy Freeway
January 31, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 14804 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) about 7:40 a.m. today (January 31).
The identity of the male victim, 74, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Williams and Officer A. Hart reported:
The victim attempted to run across the eastbound Katy Freeway service road near State Highway 6 and was struck by a blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck traveling on the service road. The victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and was determined not to be impaired.
No charges are expected to be filed in this crash.
