Investigation into Fatal Crash at 8400 Knight Road
January 25, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 8400 Knight Road about 6 p.m. on Wednesday (Jan. 24).
The identity of the deceased female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer M. Mathews reported:
Witnesses stated the female driver of a black Ford F-350 pickup truck was traveling northbound on Knight Road when she struck a female pedestrian crossing the street, not at a crosswalk. Paramedics transported the pedestrian to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The driver was questioned, did not show any signs of intoxication and was released. The investigation indicates the pedestrian failed to yield the right of way to a motor vehicle.
