Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1400 Lockwood
January 18, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 1400 Lockwood about 4:50 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 11).
The identity of the male victim, 46, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer O. Bledsoe reported:
The driver of a green Peterbilt tractor-trailer truck was traveling southbound at the above address when the victim (pedestrian) ran eastbound - not in a crosswalk - from a nearby gas station towards a bus stop. The driver of the truck was not able to stop and struck the victim. The victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the truck remained on the scene and did not show any signs of intoxication. He was questioned and released without charges.
