Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 2950 Old Spanish Trail
August 13, 2018 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of another at 2950 Old Spanish Trail about 10:55 p.m. on Sunday (August 12).
One victim, Johnny Ray Demease, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man, Eric Burton, also 21, was transported to an area hospital where doctors said he was expected to survive his wounds.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives T. Andrade and S. Overstreet reported:
Officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex parking garage at the above address and learned Messrs. Demease and Burton had a verbal altercation with a suspect that escalated into an exchange of gunfire between at least one suspect and both victims. Burton and Demease were shot and the suspect(s) fled the scene.
