Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 10096 South Gessner
September 18, 2017 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 10096 South Gessner about 9 p.m. on Sunday (Sept. 17).
The identity of the deceased victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The other wounded victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives T. Andrade and S. Overstreet reported:
Officers were dispatched to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital regarding two shooting victims, males in their 20s, who arrived in a personal vehicle.
Investigators learned the victims were at a business at 10096 South Gessner when they were approached by an unknown black male suspect. The suspect asked the victims for a cigarette and then began shooting at the two men. Moments later, the suspect was seen leaving the scene with two other males in a white vehicle with paper license plates. A passerby picked up the victims and drove them to the hospital.
