Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5600 Airline Drive
November 20, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5600 Airline Drive about 6:30 p.m. last Friday (November 17).
The identity of the male victim, 35, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Warhol and Officer M. Matthews reported:
The victim, a pedestrian, crossed the main lanes of Airline Drive - not at a crosswalk - and was struck by a blue Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck traveling southbound. The victim died at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene, did not shows signs of intoxication and was questioned and released.
A preliminary investigation determined the victim was at-fault in the crash.
