Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6100 South Freeway
November 6, 2017 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 6100 South Freeway (State Highway 288 South) about 7:55 p.m. last Friday (Nov. 3).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer O. Sulaiman reported:
The victim, a pedestrian, was crossing the main lanes of the freeway when he was struck by an unknown white vehicle whose driver fled the scene. A second vehicle, a silver Nissan Maxima, also struck the victim. That driver exited the freeway and was initially detained for questioning. The driver did not show signs of intoxication and was questioned and released after it was determined he was not trying to flee the scene.
Anyone with information on the wanted white vehicle and its driver is urged to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4065 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
