Investigation into Man's Death, Crash at 12500 Gulf Freeway

May 23, 2017 - HOUSTON - Houston police are investigating the death of a man and hit-and-run crash at 12500 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 6:10 a.m. today (May 23).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Hall and Officer J. Gaona reported:

The victim jumped off the Fuqua Street overpass onto the southbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway.  It is unknown at this time if he died from the fall.  An unknown vehicle struck the victim and fled then fled the scene.
