Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 6210 Gaston

June 19, 2017 - Houston police are investigating an apparent murder/suicide at 6210 Gaston about 3:50 p.m. last Friday (June 16).

The female victim, Ma Bernadita Salas, 39, above the address, suffered gunshot wounds and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The male suspect, Juan Jose Salas, 48, also of the above address, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officers T. Fay and M. Dykens reported:

HPD patrol officers responded a shooting call at the above address and were advised the suspect might still be on the scene.  Upon arrival, they observed the suspect had apparently fled and Houston Fire Department paramedics rendering aid to Ms. Salas. 

After Ms. Salas was transported to the hospital, officers learned from witnesses that the suspect, Juan Jose Salas, was her husband.  While securing the scene, officers found Salas dead.

The investigation is continuing.
