Suspect Arrested, Charged in Crash at 12000 East Freeway
July 31, 2017 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in a crash that occurred at 12000 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) at 12:55 a.m. on Sunday (July 30).
The suspect, Jose Guadalupe Mines (H/m, 35), is charged with failure to stop and render aid and intoxication assault in the 174th State District Court.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Kopulos and Officer A. Mares reported:
Mines was driving a black Dodge Magnum eastbound on the freeway at a high rate of speed when he turned into the lane where the victim was driving a Harley motorcycle. The Dodge then dragged the motorcycle a short distance before it came to a rest on the shoulder of the freeway. Mines then turned around on the freeway and fled the scene. Mines was followed by witnesses until he stopped in the parking lot of a strip center. Responding patrol officers were able to take him into custody without further incident. The victim was transported by HFD paramedics to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital in critical condition.
The investigation is continuing.
