Investigation into Man Found Deceased at 1127 Sol

January 30, 2017 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man found following a fire at 1127 Sol about 10:45 a.m. on Saturday (January 28).  

The victim is identified as Joseph Charles, 80, of the above address.  His cause of death is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant S. Murdock and Senior Police Officer B. Evans reported:  

Houston Fire Department emergency personnel responded to a fire at a residence at the above address and, when the fire was extinguished, found Mr. Charles deceased on a sofa in the living room.  

At this time, the fire appears to be accidental.  However, the investigation by the HPD Homicide Division and the HFD Arson Unit is continuing.
