Update: Suspect Charged, Wanted in Fatal Shooting at 8900 South Braeswood Boulevard
January 12, 2017 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 8900 South Braeswood Boulevard about 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 21).
The suspect, Transito Rafael Villalobos (H/m, 17), is charged with capital murder in the 182nd State District Court. He remains at-large. A photo of Villalobos is attached to this news release.
Villalobos is charged in the death of Miguel Picon, 18, who was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Rhodes and Officer M. Dykens reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a reported shooting in the strip center parking lot at the above address and found Mr. Picon suffering from a gunshot wound. A possible suspect, observed on surveillance video, is described only as a Hispanic male, approximately 19-20 years old, with medium wavy hair, a skinny build, and wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans was released to the public.
Additional investigation led to the identification of the suspect as Villalobos and, on January 7, he was charged with capital murder.
