Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 4235 Oak Shadows

January 3, 2017 - Houston police are investigating the apparent accidental shooting of a juvenile female at 4235 Oak Shadows about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday (December 31).  

The victim, 16, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Homicide Division Officers S. Jimenez and M. Cass reported:  

The victim was home with her father at the above address when a pistol the father was handling accidentally discharged.  The female was fatally struck by the gunfire.  

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
