February 27, 2017 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man at 4926 Ridgestone about 12:30 p.m. last Friday (Feb. 24).
The victim, Tyrone Cleveland, 39, was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Chebret and Detectives F. Waters II and C. Elder reported:
Mr. Cleveland was having trouble dealing with the recent losses of his sister and aunt and had not eaten or slept in the past week. Family members went to Cleveland's home in an attempt to get him some help, but he became irate and attacked one of his brothers. Both brothers subdued Cleveland and called 911. Neither brother struck the victim nor cut off his air supply in any way. When paramedics arrived, Cleveland was found unresponsive on the floor and taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy is being conducted by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences to determine Cleveland's manner and cause of death.
