Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 6643 Cullen Boulevard

February 14, 2017 - The fatal shooting of a male robbery suspect at 6643 Cullen Boulevard about 3:45 p.m. on Monday (February 13) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased male, 48, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Robbery and Homicide Division investigators reported:

The suspect entered the Cullen Quick Mart store at the above address about 2:45 p.m., looked around and left without saying anything to a store employee.  The suspect returned to the store about one hour later, walked up to the counter and punched the store employee in the face while demanding money.  At that time, the employee produced a gun and shot the suspect more than one time.  

Paramedics transported the male to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The employee was not seriously injured.
