Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 3500 Fannin
February 3, 2017 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of three others that occurred at 3500 Fannin at about 1:45 a.m. on December 31, 2016.
The suspect, Herbert Lee Briscoe (b/m, 28), is charged with murder in the 183rd State District Court. A photo of suspect Briscoe is attached to this news release.
He is accused in the killing of Kionn Oniel Lamothe, 25, who died at an area hospital. Two other victims, Marvin Ray Hart, Jr., 30, and Tristian Mouton, 28, were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer L. Bailey and Officer J. Young reported:
Messrs. Lamothe, Hart, Briscoe and Mouton were at the Life Night Club at 3704 Fannin when several physical altercations started inside the club. The altercations continued outside into the street and, at some point, shots were fired. All four men were struck by the gunfire.
Further investigation identified Briscoe as a suspect in this case. He was taken into custody on Wednesday (February 1) and subsequently charged for his role in Lamothe's death.
