Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting Incident at 6121 Hillcroft
April 12, 2017 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in an incident in which an armed suspect fired shots at an off-duty HPD officer at 6121 Hillcroft at about 12:10 a.m. on April 9.
The suspect, Juan Reynose-Zacarias (H/m, 26), is charged with aggravated assault of a public servant and forgery of a government financial document in the 262nd State District Court and unlawful carrying of a weapon in Harris County Criminal Court #11.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant H. Ruiz reported:
An off-duty HPD officer was working an approved extra job at the Mondongo Restaurant at the above address when he saw two males attempt to leave the business with an open container of alcohol. The officer approached the suspects and told them they could not leave the location with open containers. The suspects became upset and, as they got into the vehicle and left the location, one of the suspects discharged a weapon into the air and in the direction of the officer. The officer was not struck.
The suspects, described only as two Hispanic males, fled the scene in a black, four-door BMV SUV.
Further investigation identified Reynose-Zacarias as the suspect in this case. He was taken into custody on Monday (April 10) without incident.
