Investigation into Fatal Assault at 12415 Chimney Rock Road

April 3, 2017 - Houston police have obtained autopsy results in the death of a man found at 12415 Chimney Rock Road on January 12.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences found the victim, Rosalio Espino Sandoval, 67, of 7245 Hillcroft, died as the result of blunt trauma to his head and body.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Turner and Officer J. Nguyen reported:

On January 12 about 3:45 p.m., HPD patrol officers responded to a delayed report of an assault at the above address.  Upon arrival, they learned the victim, Mr. Sandoval, had been transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition and, at that time, was expected to survive.  A crowbar was also recovered at the scene under a nearby dumpster.

On Friday (April 3), HPD Homicide Division investigators were notified by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences that Sandoval had died from his injuries.
