Update: Fatal Shooting Investigation at 4106 Englewood
February 26, 2016 - The fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 4106 Englewood about 12:05 a.m. on February 19 will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The victim, Sherron A. Wilkins, 34, of the above address, was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant S. Murdock and Senior Police Officer B. Evans reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Mr. Wilkins with multiple gun shot wounds. Witnesses told police that Wilkins got into a fight in front of his residence with an acquaintance. At some point, the acquaintance (suspect) pulled out a pistol and shot Wilkins. The suspect then fled northbound on Englewood in an SUV of unknown make and model.
Further investigation identified a 60-year-old male as the shooter in this case and, on Monday (Feb. 22), he was detained, questioned and released pending presentation of the case to a Harris County grand jury.
