Investigation into Fatal Crash at 3900 Southwest Freeway
February 22, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 3900 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 11:05 p.m. on Sunday (February 21).
The male victim was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer H. Nguyen reported:
The driver of a black Mercedes C-Class was traveling northbound on the Southwest Freeway when he struck a silver Acura RSX that was disabled and parked near the left shoulder of the freeway. The driver of the Acura (victim) was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition and later died.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
