Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1400 North Loop
August 30, 2016 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 1400 North Loop (North Interstate Highway 610 West) about 6:20 a.m. today.
The female victim, 35, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer R. Saenz reported:
The driver of a white Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck was traveling westbound on the North Loop ramp from the North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) when the vehicle struck a pedestrian crossing the freeway. The driver, who did not show signs of intoxication, remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
Further investigation determined the pedestrian failed to yield to traffic when she was struck.
