Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 6604 Madrid
August 8, 2016 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 6604 Madrid at 8:15 p.m. on July 31.
The suspect, Demarcus West (b/m, 22), is charged with murder in the 176th State District Court. A photo of West is attached to this news release.
West is accused in the killing of Anthony Thomas, 31.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant N. Ruland and Officer N. Sharp reported:
An altercation occurred between Mr. Thomas and an unknown suspect, during which the suspect produced a gun and shot Thomas multiple times. The suspect then fled the scene.
Further investigation identified the suspect as West and, on August 5th, West was arrested without incident.
