Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 2900 State Highway 6 North
April 19, 2016 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 2900 State Highway 6 North about 3:45 a.m. on Sunday (April 17).
The suspect, Hamza Khalid Paracha (A/m, 24), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 208th State District Court. A photo of suspect Paracha is attached to this news release.
The male victim, 25, was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer D. Rodriguez reported:
The driver of a black Honda Civic was traveling north on Highway 6 and approaching the red light at the intersection of Patterson. The Civic then struck the rear of a gray Toyota Sienna minivan and pushed it into the intersection. The Sienna then struck a gray Chrysler 300. The disabled Civic was then struck by a gray Scion tC. The passenger in the Civic was transported to the hospital where he died. The driver of the Civic was detained at the scene. He was determined to be impaired and was subsequently charged. The drivers of the Scion and the Sienna were not injured.
