Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 6771 Westbranch Drive
November 10, 2015 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man found at 6771 Westbranch Drive about 9:35 p.m. on May 18.
The suspect, Chimene Onyeri (b/m, 28), is charged with murder in the 184th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Jacobi Demond Alexander, 31. A photo of suspect Onyeri is attached to this news release.
HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer R. Nunez and Officer M. Dykens reported:
Mr. Alexander was walking through a common area of the Falls of Bellaire apartment complex at the above address when he was approached by two unknown males. He was then shot several times and pronounced dead at the scene. The suspects were described only as two black males.
Further investigation led to the identity of Onyeri as the suspect in this case and he was taken into custody by members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force in the 12700 block of Bissonnet on Monday (Nov. 9).
